Not to be outdone by the local restaurants cooking up free grub for our first responders today, Santikos Theatres is honoring law enforcement, firefighters, and EMS personnel with free movies from Sept. 11 thru Nov. 30.

And not just one free movie, mind you.

Santikos Theatres’ Free for First Responders initiative entitles first responders to one free movie ticket per day for the next 11 weeks. So any movie, any time—but limited to one free admission per day.

First responders simply have to flash their badge or give their badge ID number at the box office of any of the San Antonio-based theater chain’s nine locations, including two in the Houston area—Santikos Silverado IMAX in Tomball and Santikos Palladium AVX in Richmond.

Special events are excluded from this promotion, according to a post on Santikos Palladium AVX’s Facebook page.

“This is a project that we began planning three months ago as a way to thank our first responders,” said Art Seago, president of Santikos Theatres. “We decided that in remembrance of 9/11 we would start this ‘Thank You’ initiative on Sept. 11, 2015. We want to bring back that same feeling of camaraderie that our nation shared that day and to simply let our first responders know they are appreciated in our community.”
