Houston’s Beloved El Tiempo Cantina to Open a New Location on 290
Houston’s popular Tex-Mex spot El Tiempo Cantina is gearing up to open their eighth location before the year’s end, the Chron reported.
The new location will be in the Oak Forest/Garden Oaks area, taking the place of Café Red Onion at 12440 U.S. 290, and it’ll be serving up El Tiempo’s famous fajitas and margaritas by Christmas.
El Tiempo owner and executive chef Domenic Laurenzo opened the restaurant’s seventh location (at 1309 Annex in Montrose) back in May.
Laurenzo’s grandmother was the late Ninfa Laurenzo, who introduced fajitas to the U.S. back in 1973 and started Ninfa’s restaurant, which was incredibly successful in the ’70s. Today El Tiempo Cantina carries on her legacy.
Plus, they serve crazy-potent margaritas.
